290 - MUSIC MEMORABILIA: Jimi Hendrix. A framed & glazed Pop art water-colour signed James, approx 21x23" formally the property of Jimi. It was given as a token of thanks to Dr Jeffrey Kruger (founder of The Flamingo Cub London, Ember Records & TKO Enterprise). Jimi walked into the club one Saturday evening and asked Jeffrey Kruger if he could jam. Jeffrey recalls, he asked who he was and he said he had just arrived in London. He suggested he hung in until the all-niter set started and introduced him to the night time manager Rik Gunnell, who arranged for him to play. He & Jimi had an understanding that Jimi would return to the Flamingo if he made it in London. It was on his return to the club the picture was given to Dr Krugger. This picture comes from Dr Krugers personal collection which Cameo Auctioneers are currently handling
